FAQ

Why should you go on a Private Eye Tour?

Private Eye Tours has specialized in offering unique tours of Seattle since 1997. This is an opportunity to see the Real Seattle in a different way. Three different tours are available: Two Mystery & Murder Tours and a Seattle's only year round Ghost Tour.

The Queen Anne Mystery & Murder Tour is our original tour. We visit scenic Queen Anne Hill, Downtown Seattle, Pioneer Square (the oldest part of town) & the Chinatown International District. We go to the scene of the crimes covering infamous murders, burglaries, arson, speakeasies, and the red light district. Because we are traveling thru the older areas of the city, there is some old Seattle history covered as well.

The Capitol Hill Mystery & Murder Tour covers the Capitol Hill neighborhood, which is east of Downtown Seattle, and also travels thru the surrounding neighborhoods. Some famous people covered include Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix and Ted Bundy. We also visit some of Seattle's charming, quaint districts including Madrona and Lake Union's houseboats.

Haunted Happenings: Seattle's Ghost Tour covers a larger section of Seattle compared to the other two tours. It is a guided tour of Seattle's most haunted locations. All of the locations have been well documented. We travel thru many of the city's neighborhoods and hear the stories that lurk behind the haunted locales.

How long do the tours last?

The Queen Anne & the Capitol Hill Mystery & Murder Tours last approximately 2 1/2 hours. Haunted Happenings: A Seattle Ghost Tour lasts 3 hours.

When are the tours?

All tours are scheduled based upon demand. There are no set departure times. Private Eye Tours operates year round, excluding major holidays. Please email Jake@privateeyetours.com  or call 206 365 3739 to book your tour.

Where is the pick-up location?

All three tours depart from the South end of Lake Union near the parking lot for the Center for Wooden Boats. Their address is 1010 Valley Street. Take the Mercer Street exit #167 off I-5. Turn right at the light (Fairview Ave N.) and go one block. Turn left at the stop light (Valley). Turn right into the first driveway, which is approximately 1/2 block away. Look for the brown and white Maritime Heritage Center Sign. There is no storefront; it is only a meeting location. If you are an out of town visitor, complimentary pick up is available at Downtown Seattle hotels.

Is there parking available?

There is public parking in the general area, both free & paid. Please do NOT park in the Center for Wooden Boats parking lot.
