Why should you go on a Private Eye on Seattle Tour?

Private Eye on Seattle Tours has specialized in offering unique tours of Seattle since 1997. This is an opportunity to see Seattle in a different way. Five different tours are available: two True Crime Tours and two Ghost Tours covering different areas of the city. Our newest Tour is Booze, Broads & Jazz Tour.

The Queen Anne True Crime Tour is our original tour. We visit scenic Queen Anne Hill, Kerry Park (where Frasier lived), Pioneer Square, the oldest part of the city, Downtown Seattle and the Chinatown International District. We go to the scene of the crimes covering infamous murders, burglaries, arson, speakeasies and the red light district. Because we are traveling through the older sections of the city, there is some old history of Seattle covered as well.

The Capitol Hill True Crime Tour covers the Capitol Hill neighborhood, just east of Downtown, and also travels through the surrounding neighborhoods. Some famous people featured include Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix and Ted Bundy. We also visit some of Seattle's charming and quaint areas such as Madrona &  down along Lake Union's houseboat community.

Haunted Happenings: A Seattle Ghost Tour covers a larger section of the city compared to the other tours. It is a guided tour of some of Seattle's most haunted locations, which have been well documented.  You will travel through ten Seattle neighborhoods while hearing the stories that lurk behind the locales with several stops to explore. It is not a Ghost Hunt.

Spirits of Seattle Ghost Tour is our newest Ghost tour. It travels through the metro area of the city including Capitol Hill, Belltown, the Market and Downtown. It is a guided tour of some of Seattle's most haunted locations -- both well known and obscure.

Our Booze, Broads & Jazz Tour takes you back in time when Seattle was young & wild. It covers the Prohibition era of Seattle thru the WW11 years. We end the tour at a cocktail lounge with a very interesting past.

How long do the tours last?

Both the Queen Anne & Capitol Hill True Crime Tours last approximately 2.5 hours. The Haunted Happenings Tour lasts 3 hours and the Spirits of Seattle Tour Ghost Tour lasts 2.5 hours. All times are approximate depending on traffic.

When are the tours?

The True Crime Tours are offered during the day but special arrangements can be made for a nighttime tour. The Ghost Tours are offered at night but special arrangements can be made for a private daytime tour. Private Eye on Seattle Tours operates year round, excluding major holidays. Click the reservation link to see individual tour times & schedules or call 206 365 3739 for additional information.

Where is the pick-up location?

The tours depart from the south end of Lake Union at 809 Fairview Pl N. We meet at the HC Henry Pier parking lot, located in front of Daniel's Broiler Restaurant. Look for a large white van with the Private Eye logo. This is only the meeting location, not a storefront. If you are an out of town visitor, complimentary pick up is available from Downtown hotels.  See the location link for directions to the departure point.

Is there parking available?

There is parking in the south Lake Union area in public parking lots. The South Lake Union Streetcar also stops nearby. Parking at the HC Henry Parking lot is $6 after 6pm and on weekends.

Are the tours suitable for children?

Due to adult subject matter, the tours are not recommended for children under 12.

What is the ticket price?

The True Crime Tours are $30 plus tax.  The Ghost Tours and the Booze, Broads & Jazz Tour are $35 plus tax. Prices are subject to change without notice. Although we have offered coupon deals in the past, we have decided against it. We are a professional tour company and have been in business since 1997. We feel that our tour prices are very reasonable for the amount of content and length of the tours. Currently, we do not offer discounts for seniors, children or the military.

Do you get out of the van during the tours?

Yes, we do get out of the van on all of the tours. Minimal walking is involved. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. Some of the locations are at operating businesses or private residences and we do not enter those areas.  We do get out at public locations on all of our tours including the Ghost Tours but we are not a Ghost Hunt or investigation.

What happens if it rains?

Private Eye on Seattle Tours are held rain or shine year round.

Can I bring a video camera or take photos?

Photos are encouraged but filming the tour is not allowed without permission.
